The Italian division of Honor has unexpectedly announced a new affordable tablet in the X8 series. This year’s novelty is called Honor Pad X8b and debuts with a large battery, a wide display, and a design that nods to premium models, all at an affordable price in line with the rest of the family.
The new tablet from the Chinese company is simple and essential, perfect for students, young people, and for those looking for a rugged, battle-tested tablet (that is, a solution you can carry around and beat up as much as you can). Pad X8b is exactly that, and with the addition of Honor Kids it becomes an interesting alternative even for the youngest users.
This mode creates a separate space for children, with restrictions, content dedicated to digital learning, and a dedicated play area. Parental Control is a must, with Time Management, blocking of inappropriate content and more.
A versatile budget-friendly tablet, built with a SGS Premium Performance-certified metal chassis for resistance to shocks and drops. The display is an LCD unit of 11″ diagonal, with a 90 Hz refresh rate and Honor Eye Comfort technology. The panel is TÜV-certified for low blue light emission and includes the eBook mode and Dynamic Dimming.
The chipset is a Snapdragon 680, powered by 10,100 mAh battery; storage can be expanded up to 2 TB using the micro SD slot. The camera setup is basic, with two 5 MP sensors — front and rear.
The new Honor Pad X8b debuts in Italy via the official store: the price starts from €229.9 for the base 4/128 GB variant and rises to €269.9 for the higher model, 6/256 GB. The tablet is available only in the WiFi version (so no LTE).
