Just over six months since its first official appearance, which occurred in October 2025, the market may finally have a confirmed release date for the long-awaited speaker Google Home of a new generation.
The first concrete information about it emerges thanks to an update to the product page published on Best Buy’s Canadian division site.
According to the well-known retailer, the commercial debut is set for the June 25, 2026. While major e-commerce platforms sometimes publish provisional dates to keep their catalogs up to date, this represents the first specific and credible time indication associated with the imminent smart device.
In the meantime, the US portal of the same electronics chain maintains a decidedly more cautious approach, limiting itself to showing a generic label indicating an arrival soon. This caution remains necessary, considering that the official channels of the producing company have not yet confirmed the exact launch date.
During the autumn event, spokespersons had indicated the spring 2026 as the time window for distribution. Management had justified the wait by explaining the need to focus initial efforts on expanding the software on devices already present in users’ homes.
With spring season now drawing to a close and the official store continuing to report the same time frame, the accumulated delay has heightened interest and ongoing questions from potential buyers.
The new hardware marks a clear change of course for the California giant’s domestic dynamics. The most evident decision concerns the abandonment of the Nest brand for this specific product, which will appear on shelves simply under the name of Google Home Speaker.
This device has been conceived from the early design stages around the advanced capabilities of the artificial intelligence model Gemini.
The native integration of this intelligence indeed requires dedicated computing resources. For this reason, the speaker is equipped with custom-made hardware components to manage local data processing and ensure responses that are always smooth and natural.
In response to a recent request for clarifications from the publication Android Authority regarding timing, the company answered in a telegraphic manner, assuring that further details will be shared very soon.
This prolonged wait suggests a meticulous effort on overall optimization, a crucial step to offer a flawless user experience from the very first use.
On the technical specs front, the speaker promises top-tier performance. The system will guarantee 360-degree audio, allowing sound to spread evenly throughout the room.
Users will have the option to configure a stereo system using two separate units and can place the device within a multi-room network for synchronized listening throughout the home.
Another feature of great interest is the direct compatibility with the Google TV Streamer, an option designed specifically to recreate a true home theater-style audio system in your living room.
The product will be sold in four different colors, namely Porcelain, Hazel, Berry and Jade, offering multiple options to fit any decor.
As for the price, the official price list amounts to $99.99. While the single figure may appear affordable at first glance, building a complete ecosystem will require higher investments.
Considering purchasing multiple speakers to achieve the stereo effect and the possible addition of the dedicated TV module, the system will entail a total expenditure of considerable magnitude for the end consumer, making it an important investment for home entertainment.
All that remains now is to wait for the definitive announcement to discover whether the last week of June will mark the actual rollout of the new speaker in stores.
