Gaming peripherals can cost significant sums, and prices rise as technical capabilities increase. For this reason, the new Xiaomi Gaming Mouse 2 presents itself as a welcome novelty: a device geared toward e-sports thanks to high-end specs but offered at an extremely competitive price (even if, for the moment, the launch has taken place only in China).
The new mouse is equipped with a custom sensor PixArt PAW3955XM, which offers specifications designed for the most demanding competitive contexts: a resolution up to 40,000 DPI, a tracking speed of 750 IPS and an acceleration of 60G. To guarantee maximum reactivity, Xiaomi has implemented a mode dedicated to e-sports that pushes the scan frame rate beyond 20,000 FPS, also supporting Motion Sync technology for cursor tracking that is always smooth and coherent.
The dual-core Telink TL3228 controller allows the mouse to support a polling frequency of 8,000 Hz in both wired and 2.4 GHz wireless modes. To maintain connection stability at these elevated speeds, the system sends duplicate data packets on two channels every 125 microseconds, reducing the risk of interference.
From a build perspective, Xiaomi Gaming Mouse 2 follows the trend of ultra-light devices, weighing only 58 grams. Ergonomics were studied by analyzing grip data from professional players to fit perfectly to various grip styles. Despite being a gaming solution, the design remains sober, eschewing aggressive lines and LED lights.
As far as reliability is concerned, the main buttons use TTC optical switches, while the scroll wheel is equipped with a TTC Gold encoder rated for two million cycles. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.1, 2.4 GHz wireless, and wired USB-C connection, while the 530 mAh battery offers up to 160 hours of battery life by setting the polling rate to 1,000 Hz.
Finally you can customize every parameter via software and save the settings directly to the internal memory. The new Xiaomi Gaming Mouse 2 has been launched via the crowdfunding platform YouPin, at the promotional price of 349 yuan (about €43.5 at the exchange rate).
The brand has brought various mice to Global markets, Italy included, but at the moment there are still no details on a possible debut outside China.
