The Chinese company has announced the domestic debut of the new vivo S60, a device with refined styling that should serve as the base for our vivo V80. This is a relationship that has spanned several generations, the one between the S and V families, and it is very likely that it will continue this time as well. Let’s take a look at what to expect, thanks to the images and the details on the specifications of the device arriving in China!
The unveiling of the new smartphone is scheduled for the 29 May and, as noted above, the initial launch concerns only the Chinese market. We expect the vivo S60 to reach our latitudes in the coming months as part of the V series, although — clearly — the final say always rests with the brand.
Awaiting more details on the release of our vivo V80, here is what we can expect in terms of design and specs. Aesthetically, rumors of an iPhone Air-like look are debunked: the S60 is equipped with a large rectangular island, housing the camera sensors and the LED flash.
This is a different aesthetic compared to that of S50 and V70, which feature a squared camera module.
Available in Starry Sea, Early Summer Green and Midsummer Night colorways, the new model sports an elegant and refined look, in the perfect style of the series. According to rumors, vivo S60 would sport an OLED display of 6.59″ diagonal, with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood we should find the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, powered by a 7,200 mAh battery, with 90W fast charging. The camera system would be led by a 50 MP main sensor, accompanied by an ultra-wide and a Sony periscope telephoto lens (with an IMX8 series sensor).
There is not yet information on a larger variant, but we know the device will arrive alongside the vivo S60 Vitality Edition, a kind of Lite model. Technical details are missing, while the design and colors echo those of the S60.
