Trump T1 Phone produced by a storied and beloved brand? It seems like a 2024 mid-range device

Initially, many had speculated that the Trump T1 Phone was simply a modified version of the smartphone Revvl 7 Pro.

However, now that the first devices have begun to reach buyers, side-by-side images and careful analysis of the technical specifications tell a decidedly different story.

The main clue for the hardware base of the new American smartphone is indeed the HTC U24 Pro, a device launched on the market in the June 2024. The aesthetic and functional similarities between the two devices are too evident to be coincidental.

Was the Trump T1 Phone produced by HTC?

Observing the two smartphones side by side, the similarities are undeniable. The speaker grille, the notification LED, the proximity sensor and the ambient light sensor positioned on the top edge align impeccably on both devices. The headphone jack and the general arrangement of the camera lenses also appear identical.

There are only very slight differences in the position of the rear microphone, usually dedicated to call noise cancellation and video audio recording, and in the placement of the flash.

Under the hood, both devices share a 6.8-inch display and a Snapdragon 7-series processor. The photographic setup is literally overlappable, boasting a front sensor of 50 MP for selfies, a main camera of 50 MP, a 50 MP telephoto lens with optical zoom 2x and an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor.

Unlike the Revvl 7 Pro, which remains Bluetooth 5.2, both the HTC model and the Trump T1 support the Bluetooth 5.3. In addition to this, there is a generous amount of memory, equal to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for both.

To further strengthen the case for hardware sharing, the price positioning is revealing. Currently, the Revvl 7 Pro is marketed at around 125 dollars, a figure far from the $499.99 asked for the Trump T1.

On the other hand, the 512 GB version of the HTC U24 Pro is offered by importers at a price between $490 and $525, aligning almost perfectly with the cost of the new smartphone. It should be noted that the current price of the Trump T1 has been defined as promotional in nature, hinting at a possible price increase for future buyers.

Numerous doubts surround the Trump Mobile smartphone

Despite these confirmations, numerous questions arise that pique curiosity. One detail that has caused much perplexity concerns the American flag stamped on the back of the device, which features only 11 stripes instead of the usual 13.

Additionally, there is some confusion regarding the initial statements of the manufacturer. Although a product entirely manufactured in America was promised, the sales packaging reads verbatim the phrase “proudly assembled in the United States“, implying a clear foreign origin of the original components.

Another critical aspect concerns the software included. The smartphone arrives in users’ hands with Android 15 preinstalled, an operating system one generation behind what is found on most new models on the market.

Considering that Android 17 is expected as early as August, the device risks soon being two software iterations behind. At the moment, the manufacturer has not provided any reassurances or details on how many system updates or security patches will be guaranteed over time.
