Brace Yourself for the Worst: Samsung Is About to Raise Prices Even in Europe

So far, the major global smartphone companies have managed to partially shield consumers from the severe turbulence in the component market.

Both Apple and Samsung had found effective strategies to absorb sudden increases in memory chip costs, acting through meticulous optimization of resources and a strict reduction of costs in other production sectors.

However, this internal containment policy seems to have reached its maximum sustainability limit and will no longer be applicable for the Seoul-based giant. The consequences of this breakdown of financial balance will soon fall on end buyers in the form of price increases for products already on the market.

Samsung Set to Raise Prices in Europe

The company’s executives are indeed forced to raise their price lists due to the continuous and unstoppable increases affecting RAM memory. The production and procurement of these components have become significantly more expensive, pushing the major mobile brands to recalibrate their profit margins.

According to a recent report originating in Greece and rapidly echoed by the major industry outlets, the company would already have planned a significant cost increase for some of its devices distributed across Europe.

The date highlighted in red on the calendar is that of June, the month from which the new prices will take effect for consumers across Europe.

Models Involved and the Anticipated Price Increases

Delving into the details of the leaked information, the devices most affected by this wave of price increases will be those belonging to the higher end of the company’s catalog. Specifically, the entire Galaxy S series family, together with the foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, are expected to see an increase of around €100 compared to the standard prices to which the public was accustomed.

There is currently no absolute certainty whether this increase will affect exclusively the base versions with the lower storage configuration.

However, basic commercial logic suggests that even models with higher memory configurations will experience a proportionate increase, making the purchase of flagship smartphones an increasingly burdensome financial investment.

A Trend That Will Spread Across the Entire Sector

Unfortunately, the bad news for buyers does not stop at the borders of South Korea’s offices. It is highly likely that the Asian multinational will not remain an isolated case, but will instead act as a pioneer for an economic phenomenon that will affect the entire mobile technology market.

Several financial analysts and leading industry experts have already issued a clear warning, warning international markets of an imminent generalized price increase expected for the second half of the year.

The triggering cause of this inevitable chain reaction remains the persistent shortage of memory chips globally, combined with the constant need for increasingly demanding technical specifications.

As a result, anyone planning to purchase a new high-end device in the coming months should brace themselves for noticeably higher price tags.
