Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide: the dummy is shown in a video

The anticipation for the next generation of foldable smartphones under the Samsung brand continues to grow ahead of the probable launch scheduled for July.

In recent weeks, rumors have outlined a fairly detailed profile of the device known for now as Galaxy Z Fold Wide, but now a new tangible element enriches the discussion.

Through a short video circulated online by the well-known leaker Sonny Dickson, what appears to be, in fact, a dummy of the future South Korean device has emerged.

This footage offers users a first three-dimensional taste of the proportions and aesthetic choices adopted by the company. The non-working model shown in the clip appears in a white finish and highlights a device body that looks surprisingly slim, a crucial detail for a smartphone that makes portability and ergonomics two determining factors.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide appears in the first video

Carefully observing the sequences of the video, it is possible to spot several fundamental build elements. The back panel, in fact, houses a camera module consisting of two cameras positioned vertically. Along the side edges the volume rocker and the power button are located, while at the bottom the usual USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer is clearly visible.

Although a dummy unit may show slight differences from the final product, the overall shapes confirm the manufacturer’s intention to explore a wider format than in the past.

The technical rumors suggest the presence of a large 7.6-inch internal display characterized by a 4:3 form factor. A proportion like this would greatly facilitate document viewing and web navigation, bringing the overall user experience closer to that of a compact tablet.

Technical specifications and possible surprises about the name

Beyond aesthetics, the latest leaks have provided interesting details regarding internal components and the brand’s commercial strategies. The camera system should rely on a 50 MP main camera, paired with an ultra-wide camera that shares the same resolution of 50 MP.

Powering the device will likely be a 4,800 mAh battery, a capacity deemed adequate to handle the energy needs of the large internal display without weighing down the chassis.

The most curious aspect, however, concerns the commercial nomenclature. It seems that Samsung may opt for a reorganization of its offering: this model with the wider screen could debut on the market simply as Galaxy Z Fold8.

Conversely, the traditional narrower and elongated format, natural successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7, could instead bear the name Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, outlining a more diversified product range to cater to public tastes.
