Among the most discussed details regarding the next generation of flagship Samsung stands out a potentially controversial choice for the flagship model: the Galaxy S27 Ultra could present itself to the public with a rear camera configuration reduced to three sensors only.
Although at first glance this move may seem a step back from the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s equipment, the reasons behind the decision promise to translate into tangible benefits for buyers.
Delving into technical details provided by sources close to the supply chain in South Korea, the probable removal of the dedicated telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom emerges. The elimination of this specific optical element will allow designers to substantially rethink the internal hardware layout of the smartphone.
The physical space recovered inside the chassis would be allocated to a larger battery, addressing the increasingly insistent consumer requests regarding daily autonomy.
Additionally, a less crowded camera module would lighten the overall weight of the device, promoting greater comfort during extended use.
The rumors also confirm an expansion of the range with the arrival of an unseen device, which will take the name Galaxy S27 Pro. This new entry will be positioned as a top-level alternative, characterized by a display with a diagonal measured at about 6.4″.
The true strength of the Pro model will lie in the camera section, which will share the main architecture of the Ultra version, adopting larger sensors to ensure shots of the highest quality in any lighting condition.
To differentiate the commercial offering, however, the company will maintain S Pen support as an exclusive feature of the Ultra variant, preserving thus the latter’s productive and professional identity.
Turning attention to the displays, it seems the future Galaxy S27 series will adopt a continuity-focused approach. Due to precise evaluations related to supply and production costs, the panels will not show meaningful physical or technical evolution compared to those currently used on the Galaxy S26 line.
Therefore, improvements to the interactive experience will be entirely entrusted to the software component. The manufacturer intends to introduce new features managed exclusively by software to refine daily use, confirming a corporate vision in which the maturity of the existing hardware is pushed to the maximum level through advanced algorithms and increasingly smart interfaces.
