2026 will be the year of 200 MP cameras, and not only for traditional smartphones. According to rumors so far, foldables will also aim to refresh their sensors: among them will be vivo X Fold 6, and according to a well-known insider, we will be dealing with one of the best folding Camera Phones on the market.
At the moment, very little is known about this mysterious device: the vivo X Fold 6 has managed to stay off the radar for months, but unfortunately one cannot escape the certifications. The commercial name has been confirmed, and now discussion is turning to the camera system.
The next Vivo foldable will join the ranks of foldables with a 200 MP camera; it is not specified whether it will be the main camera or the periscope telephoto, but the leaker adds that the system will also offer a multispectral sensor – to improve color fidelity.
Besides Vivo, Honor and OPPO should also use 200 MP cameras, respectively as the main and tele (at least according to leaks so far).
This will be a particularly busy year for the foldables sector: on the consumer side, Apple should launch its iPhone Fold while Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold – already official – would also arrive in Europe. Clearly, in summer (probably July) there will also be Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, apparently together with the new Galaxy Wide Fold.
Looking at the Chinese models, Honor Magic V6 will be announced at MWC in March, and there are also coming OPPO Find N6 and Huawei Pura X2. Mystery at Xiaomi: it seems the next MIX Fold 5 has been canceled and the foldable lineup will be absorbed by the regular one. The result? We should have Xiaomi 17 Fold, while the fate of the MIX series is not entirely clear.
