The vivo X500 series will get its Pro Max, with Camera Phone ambitions

The current vivo X300 series consists of the standard model and its bigger brother Pro: a tradition that has continued for generations. However, with the upcoming lineup, things could change. There are rumors of the existence of vivo X500 Pro Max, a higher-end variant characterized by a name that, after going largely unnoticed for a long time, will become a talking point in the smartphone industry.

The vivo X500 Pro Max will be a true Camera Phone: here are the first details on cameras, display and more

vivo X300 Pro

The early rumors about the vivo X500 family talk of at least three devices, characterized by screens of different sizes: 6.37″ for the base model, 6.59″ for the middle option and 6.8″ for the top variant. This very model is expected under the commercial name vivo X500 Pro Max, a novelty that does not surprise given the current landscape.

Apple has used this designation for years but this time something has changed: Lei Jun’s company launched Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, turning things upside down and opening the doors to other Chinese manufacturers. Some brands have already implemented this title while in other cases people are looking at future devices – such as the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max or even Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

Returning to the X500 series, vivo should also follow this new path with a large flagship and a top-tier camera setup. According to the latest news, the smartphone would be in testing with a 50 MP LOFIC camera: it is the same technology as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, designed to improve exposure management and dynamic range.

Furthermore there would be a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens and a multispectral sensor, the latter usually reserved for Ultra models. There are still many details missing but we can take for granted the presence of the new Dimensity 9600, the upcoming flagship chipset from MediaTek. It also seems that the vivo X500 series will have batteries exceeding 7,000 mAh, so the Pro Max model is certainly the most suitable candidate for an extra-large unit.

The launch of the new vivo lineup is expected in September, although official details are currently lacking.
