Despite the increasingly persistent crisis rumors, Pete Lau’s company has finally revealed the presentation date for the new OnePlus Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite. The existence of the mid-range pair had long been known, thanks to a slew of rumors including leaked images and various appearances on Geekbench. At this point, even the brand has decided to surrender: in addition to the release day it has shown the design, previewing some details about the specifications.
For the moment the new mid-rangers of the series follow the fate of Nord 6: the announcement concerns the Indian market while for the international debut and in our latitude it has not yet been confirmed. Meanwhile OnePlus Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite will be presented on May 7: the official images confirm the design while the brand’s store has already listed some technical details.
Nord CE 6 features a design that mirrors that of OnePlus smartphones of this generation, with a Squircle camera module. The device offers an AMOLED display with a central punch hole, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness and PWM Dimming at 3,840 Hz.
All of this with a body rated IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K for maximum resistance to dust and water. The company has already confirmed both the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and the oversized 8,000 mAh battery (which promises up to two and a half days of autonomy).
The new Nord CE 6 Lite remains tied to the aesthetic of the previous Nord CE 4 Lite, with a vertical capsule camera. Despite the economical nature, we still find a 144 Hz display while the battery drops to 7,000 mAh. The onboard chipset is the Dimensity 7400 Apex, a customized variant of the MediaTek SoC.
