The first Pura X arrived on the market as one of the most interesting foldables on the scene, despite its debut only in China. When opened, the phone features a 16:10 aspect ratio, atypical for the category: the result is a tablet-style display even though it is a flip phone.
A model with an atypical look, yet extremely functional albeit with a flaw. Despite a display that’s suited for multimedia content and partly for productivity, it lacks the stylus support. With the new Huawei Pura X Max the tech giant has rightly decided to address this shortcoming – so you can make the most of the large panel.
Samsung takes away and Huawei adds: while the recent Galaxy Z Fold 7 has given up the stylus in favor of a thinner and lighter design (eliminating the digitizer, the component that powers the pen), Pura X Max moves in the opposite direction.
The confirmation comes directly from Huawei’s official channels, which show the new foldable (the first to feature a wide format) grappling with the M-Pencil and various AI features for drawing. The pen was the big absence of the first model but fortunately it seems Huawei has decided to move in the right direction.
The presence of the digitizer does not seem to have affected the phone’s thickness, although we await official details to know the exact measurements. For more details, we can only wait for the event on April 20 (in China): the company will unveil the new Pura X Max together with the Pura 90 Pro series and the hybrid smartwatch Watch Bud 2.
