Despite the lineup of gadgets announced during the end-February event (including Xiaomi Tag and the Buds 8 Pro), a budget pair of earbuds revealed by leaks shortly before was missing from the lineup. In the end the rumors have materialized today, with the debut in Italy of the TWS earbuds Redmi Buds 8 Active: here is everything you need to know, including features and price in our region.
The Redmi Buds 8 Active show few aesthetic differences from the Lite model, except for wearability. In this case, we are dealing with semi in-ear earbuds (as opposed to the Lite and Pro, both with in-ear tips) aimed at comfort.
The front coating is optimized to fit the contours of the ear, reducing localized pressure. The charging case features a pebble-like shape with a vertical opening while each earbud is equipped with titanium-plated dynamic drivers of 14.2 mm.
The TWS support SBC and AAC codecs, and it is possible to customize the audio by choosing among 5 EQ modes (via the app). ANC is not present as in the higher-end models but AI noise reduction during calls is included, with dual microphone. Additionally, the wind noise reduction-optimized structure and the dedicated algorithm allow it to withstand wind speeds up to 6 m/s.

With Redmi Buds 8 Active, Xiaomi completes the package offered with the family of TWS: this is the entry-level model to the range, followed by the Buds 8 Lite (with ANC and priced at €22.9) up to the top with the Buds 8 Pro (premium model, now in promotion at €69.9).
