Triple screen, too risky? Early defects surface for Galaxy Z TriFold

The launch of Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold has marked a historic milestone for the Asian manufacturer, transforming its folding series into an even more ambitious reality. However, as is often the case with first-generation devices that push the boundaries of engineering, the first reports regarding the longevity of the innovative internal display are beginning to emerge.

A few weeks after the debut, some users have started reporting critical malfunctions that raise doubts about the maturity of the new technology. Although the device was welcomed with enormous enthusiasm, to the point of selling out in a few minutes, these initial incidents represent an important signal for anyone considering purchasing Samsung’s technological jewel.

The first concrete testimonies come directly from some users who, via platforms like Reddit, have documented the issues with their own screens. A particularly significant case concerns a user who saw the internal display completely darken after about a month and a half of regular use.

Initially, the problem seemed solvable with a simple reboot of the system, but within twenty-four hours the screen has become definitively black and unresponsive, preventing even the startup animation from being displayed. Despite attempts to restore via safe mode, the foldable panel has remained unusable, even though it had not suffered drops or accidental damage of any kind.

Even more worrying is the account of a second user, whose Galaxy Z TriFold stopped working after only five days of life. In this case, the display began to show phantom touches, i.e., the recording of non-existent touch commands, before turning completely white the next morning.
