Not just smartphones: first clues surface about Samsung’s future tablets and smartwatches

Although media attention and that of enthusiasts is currently almost entirely focused on the anticipation of the Galaxy S26, Samsung’s laboratories are buzzing to prepare a new wave of devices destined to enrich its ecosystem over the course of the year.

In addition to mobile telephony, the manufacturer has in store important updates for its lines of tablets and wearable devices.

To confirm these intentions, the first unannounced products emerged directly from the IMEI database of the GSMA, a source that often foreshadows the moves of major tech brands.

The certifications, originally identified by the portal Smartprix, reveal the final commercial names and their respective model codes, offering an interesting glimpse into the company’s future strategies.

Samsung, new Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Watch are on track for arrival

Analyzing the leaked information regarding the tablet sector, a detail emerges that could suggest a shift in the makeup of the product family. The database has recorded the presence of a Galaxy Tab S12 Plus 5G, identified by the model code SM-X846B, and a Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra 5G, associated with the code SM-X946B.

What stands out most to observers is that, at the moment, there is no trace of a “standard” Galaxy Tab S12 model.

This omission could indicate Samsung’s willingness to simplify the high end, focusing exclusively on the more capable variants with larger displays, or suggest that the base version could arrive at a later time. However, the current data are clear and, for now, delineate a range composed only of the Plus and Ultra versions.

A new Galaxy Watch Ultra is coming

Moving to the wearables front, the leaked screenshots reveal equally interesting plans. The arrival of the Galaxy Watch 9 is confirmed, bearing the identification code SM-L345U.

But the real surprise concerns the premium rugged wearables segment: the successor to the current flagship model will be marketed under the name Galaxy Ultra 2 (model code SM-L716U).

Samsung seems intent on cementing the Ultra series as a stable and recurring product line, alongside the classic series.

Possible launch timelines

Regarding market availability, the current information does not provide definite dates nor official confirmations. However, experience teaches to interpret these sightings with a certain measured optimism.

Historically, in fact, there is a time window between six and seven months from the moment a device appears in the GSMA’s IMEI database to its actual public presentation.

If this pattern were to be respected again this time, it is reasonable to expect that these new Galaxy ecosystem protagonists could see the light in the second half of the year, likely during the traditional summer Unpacked event.
