The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s best feature will also arrive on future MacBooks

On February 25, Samsung will unveil the new flagship models in the Galaxy S26 series, and among the novelties there will be the Privacy Display, a technology that completely eliminates the risk of prying eyes without the need for a privacy film.

It’s not yet clear whether this will be an exclusive feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra or if it will also arrive on the lower-end siblings, but for now something is starting to move behind the scenes for other manufacturers. According to a well-known insider there is good news for Apple enthusiasts and for future MacBooks.

Apple eyes Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for the upcoming MacBooks, but there will be quite a wait

The revelation comes from Ice Universe, a reliable insider often tied to rumors concerning the South Korean tech giant itself. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display technology has sparked Apple’s interest but not for its iPhones.

In Cupertino’s thoughts there would be their MacBooks, and indeed the reasoning is sound. Apple’s laptops are designed for productivity on the move, and consequently, having a Privacy Display could be a real killer feature for those who work in shared spaces.

However, there will be a wait as well: Samsung’s auto-dimming display could arrive on MacBooks, but it seems to be by 2029. The time window is quite broad, so it’s likely that there will be a wait.

Furthermore, Apple’s adoption could pave the way for other manufacturers and the GalaxyBook line could also adopt this feature.

How the new Privacy Display works

The new Privacy Display from Samsung is designed to neutralize prying looks by drastically narrowing the viewing angles. In this way, content remains sharp only for someone directly in front of the screen — a solution that allows us to say goodbye to curious people around us in crowded places such as the subway.

The real innovation lies in versatility: users can choose to protect the entire panel or limit the function to specific zones. Since this is a technology tied to dedicated hardware components (or at least it seems), the rumors suggest that it will remain an exclusive feature of the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra.

However, in other cases there is talk of a feature open to the rest of the lineup as well, so for the definitive answer we will have to wait for Galaxy Unpacked on February 25.
