The mobile technology sector looks with growing interest toward China, where rumors about Huawei’s upcoming foldable smartphone are becoming increasingly persistent.
According to the latest leaked information, the launch of the Huawei Pura X2 is expected in the month of March, bringing with it a substantial renewal compared to the previous generation.
According to rumors, it would be a redesign that seems to address the needs of those seeking greater productivity and usability, abandoning the compact dimensions that characterized the first model.
One of the most evident aspects that emerges from the recent leaks concerns the diagonal of the displays. If the first Huawei Pura X stood out for a rather compact form factor, with an internal screen of 6.3 inches and an external one of just 3.5 inches, the successor seems to want to play in a different league.
The sources suggest adopting a much more generous internal panel, which would reach 7.69 inches with a WQHD+ resolution. Even more significant appears the transformation of the external display, which would move to 5.5 inches.
This increase would make the device fully usable even when closed, surpassing the limits of a secondary display useful only for notifications and bringing it closer to the user experience of a traditional smartphone.
This design choice indicates the intention to offer a more mature hybrid experience, where the user is not forced to open the phone for every single complex operation.
Under the hood, the device is expected to integrate the new Kirin 9030 processor, a mandatory choice that confirms the company’s strategy to focus on proprietary solutions to guarantee optimal hardware-software integration.
Supporting them are decidedly high memory specifications: rumors talk of configurations that could push up to 20 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
The operating system designated to manage such power would be HarmonyOS 6.1, whose optimization will be crucial to make the most of the new display format. The camera system would also receive particular attention, with the inclusion of a telephoto lens, absent in the previous model, which would enrich shooting versatility.
Finally, aesthetics will not be neglected. The Pura X2 should debut with an extremely varied color palette, designed to meet different tastes. The planned options include blue, black, green, orange, purple and white.
We now await the official presentation to confirm whether these specifications will translate into a user experience capable of convincing the Asian audience and, potentially, the international one.
