Thanks to a mistake, or perhaps a calculated move, by a Finnish retailer, we have obtained crucial details about the upcoming flagship lineup from the South Korean brand.
The information, reported by SuomiMobiili, outlines an almost complete picture of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, suggesting an end to the 128 GB memory option for the base models.
However, when analyzing the overall technical context, the enthusiasm for this upgrade may have to be tempered by other strategic choices by the company.
It seems Samsung has finally decided to align with Chinese competitors and Apple’s recent moves, eliminating the 128 GB option from its base model. According to leaked data, the standard Galaxy S26 will be marketed directly with a starting storage of 256 GB, paired with a 512 GB variant.
This move had been anticipated for some time, especially considering the increasing weight of multimedia content and the introduction of ever heavier video formats, such as the APV codec that is set to debut precisely on this series.
Also the larger counterpart, the Galaxy S26 Plus, will follow the same logic with 256 and 512 GB options, while the flagship model, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will push the bar even higher offering a 1 Terabyte version, ideal for more demanding content creators.
It is not clear whether this memory increase on the entry models will also affect the retail price. If Samsung were to keep the prices unchanged for the 265 GB variants simply by eliminating the less capable devices, we would see one of the most affordable options disappear for purchasing a Galaxy S26.
Tutti e tre i dispositivi condivideranno quattro colorazioni principali: Black, White, Cobalt Violet e Sky Blue.
