Samsung Galaxy S26 with Satellite Connectivity: Confirmation Arrives

We have reached the end of January and — based on the leaks so far — only a few weeks remain until the debut of the new lineup. Once again we will deal with a trio consisting of Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra and the picture has now become crystal clear.

Only the final refinements remain before launch, but rumors continue unabated. The latest addition concerns support for communication satellite, confirmed by the FCC for the entire series.

Samsung Galaxy S26: the flagship lineup will have satellite communication support

Certifications for the Samsung Galaxy S26 family show various details about the upcoming devices. However, these are the US variants, so there are no absolute certainties regarding the versions that will reach Europe.

Galaxy S26 has appeared with the model number A3LSMS942U, together with Galaxy S26+ (A3LSMS947U) and S26 Ultra (A3LSMS948U): all devices run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 — in the For Galaxy customized version.

Additionally the documents mention support for Wi-Fi 7 connectivity (802.11be), Supplemental Coverage from Space (SCS) and Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN). In short, there is the communication satellite for the entire series.

This feature allows making SOS calls and messages in areas without cellular network coverage, but it is a feature that has never truly taken root in the Android world. Some manufacturers have chosen not to implement it, while in other cases it is geographically limited.

It is the case of the Galaxy S25 range: the smartphones are equipped with Snapdragon Satellite technology, but use is limited to the USA — even though the hardware is the same in Europe. It remains to be seen whether things will change with the upcoming Galaxy S26 or if, in this case too, it will be a feature limited to the US soil.

While awaiting more information, you can check out our in-depth look dedicated to the new Samsung — with all the leaks so far. The launch event is expected to take place toward the end of February, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
