Nubia Z90 Ultra and REDMAGIC 12: first clues, heading toward 10,000 mAh

In recent months there has been a lot of talk about the next-generation flagships, but always with an eye on the usual Xiaomi 18 and similar. This time it’s Nubia’s turn, with the first rumors about the future of its flagship lineup.

Z90 Ultra should debut with important updates and the Gaming Phone REDMAGIC 12 Pro wouldn’t be left behind. It reveals Digital Chat Station, together with some technical details – but we are still far from complete leaks.

What can we expect from nubia’s upcoming flagships: leaks begin

nubia Z80 Ultra

Launched in China last October (in Italy it arrived in November), Z80 Ultra has surfaced with a solid technical package and a high-level camera system – albeit with the usual software limitations. The new flagship chapter should debut by the end of the year and, clearly, it will be one of the flagships with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

The 2 nm Qualcomm SoC will debut in September and promises improvements in both performance and energy efficiency. Nubia Z90 Ultra could also introduce a major battery-related novelty: the current top is equipped with a silicon-carbon solution at 7,200 mAh, but the new model could reach 10,000 mAh.

Once again there will be a large AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, and the usual camera peculiarity will return, namely a main sensor with 35 mm focal length.

This is a default setting for nubia’s flagship devices: the 35 mm focal length reproduces a perspective and proportions very close to those of the human eye, while – in combination with wide physical apertures – allows for a more natural and pronounced bokeh.

The Nubia gaming brand will launch a new model, as usual. REDMAGIC 12 Pro is expected with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and an even larger battery. The current REDMAGIC 11S Pro houses a 7,500 mAh unit, so it’s likely that the next chapter will push around 8,000 mAh (for now exact values are missing).

Additionally, leaks point to improvements to the cooling system, both for the liquid and the air. Remember that the brand’s flagship devices feature aContinuous-flow, fluorinated liquid cooling system, with a large vapor chamber, a section with liquid metal located near the SoC, and an internal high-speed fan.

The debut occurred last October, so it’s likely that the new chapter will arrive in the same period. Anyway, as seen with Z90 Ultra, the Gaming Phone launch is expected by the end of the year.
