Honor Win and Win RT: Technical Specs, Price and Release

The gaming-focused smartphone market has just received a significant jolt with the official announcement in China of Honor Win and Win RT. They are the first models in a new brand line that has decided to tackle the gaming phone sector. The two phones are genuine powerhouses designed to address the two main limitations of mobile gamers: battery life and overheating.

With a technical sheet that boasts record-breaking battery capacity and an active cooling system borrowed from the PC world, Honor launches a direct challenge to the sector’s main competitors, especially REDMAGIC.

The beating heart of Honor Win is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, while the Win RT variant adopts the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite. Both models can be configured with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1 TB of internal UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring flawless handling of the heaviest titles and multitasking.

The visual experience is entrusted to an OLED display of 6.83” diagonal with a refresh rate of 185 Hz and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. To ensure maximum visual comfort during late-night sessions, Honor has integrated a high-frequency PWM Dimming system at 5,920 Hz, as well as an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor.

The element that most distinguishes the series is the integration of an active cooling fan positioned in the rear camera module, capable of reaching 25,000 RPM. This technical solution is essential to keep the processor’s performance stable even under maximum load, avoiding thermal throttling. In parallel, Honor has introduced a gigantic silicon-carbon battery of 10,000 mAh on both models, a capacity almost double the average of current flagship devices.

The wired charging reaches 100W for both, while only the Win model also benefits from support for ultra-fast wireless charging at 80W.

Despite the gaming nature, the photographic sector hasn’t been neglected: Honor Win offers a triple camera with a 50 MP main sensor optically stabilized, a 50 MP telephoto with 3x zoom, and a 12 MP ultrawide. The Win RT model excludes only the telephoto, still retaining the 50 MP front camera shared with the larger sibling.

Both devices are ready to tackle any environment thanks to the IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications against dust and water, and debut with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.

In terms of connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 are included. Prices in China start from about 3,999 yuan (€483 at the current exchange rate) for Honor Win and 2,699 yuan (€326) for Win RT. For now the new gaming phones are limited to the Chinese market, and it remains to be seen whether the company will decide to produce an international version.
