In the future of the Chinese brand there are several novelties: there are rumors of a Turbo model that nods to gaming but also of a compact addition to the series. This year’s experiment would have been a success, enough to lead to work for the next OnePlus 15T: the flagship in a “mini” format will arrive with top-class specs and an even more powerful battery.
The latest rumors come from the usual Digital Chat Station, a Chinese insider often reliable: similarly to OnePlus 13T (and the Global 13s cousin), the next phone will have a flat AMOLED display of 6.31″ diagonal, with 1.5K resolution and an integrated fingerprint reader, this time ultrasonic rather than optical.
The insider talks about even thinner and more optimized bezels, with uniform edges on all four sides of the panel. OnePlus 15T won’t miss out on a waterproof chassis (IP68) and will aim high with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The company would have decided to continue on the path of the compact flagship, featuring compact dimensions, a screen smaller than the 6.78″ of OnePlus 15 and a battery just as capable.
The exact capacity isn’t specified, but the leaker claims that there will be a battery exceeding 7,000 mAh, compared to the current 6,260 mAh of the 13T, still with silicon-carbon technology. The camera setup should include an ultra-wide-angle lens, absent on the predecessor (it uses only a main sensor and a telephoto).
The launch of OnePlus 15T is expected in the first half of 2026 and it won’t be the only compact coming. OPPO Find X9s has already been the subject of some rumors and for some time there have been whispers about the possibility of seeing an Honor Magic 8 Mini.
The company behind Lei Jun already has a mini-format model, namely Xiaomi 17 with its 6.3-inch screen. Consequently the real star of the coming months should be the rumored Xiaomi 17 Air, a device in an ultra-slim form factor designed to challenge the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
