The company has unveiled in China its new range of flagship smartphones, once again focusing on high-end photographic performance and introducing important innovations for video recording.
The vivo X500 series, consisting of the base model, the Pro variant and the Pro Max version, makes its debut on the Chinese market, but the brand has already confirmed the arrival of the two more advanced models also in Europe, with a dedicated event set for October 27, 2026.
Simultaneously, the spotlight returns to the foldable segment thanks to the European launch of the vivo X Fold6, ready to debut and capture the attention of Italian enthusiasts.
vivo X500 Series official: specifications, novelties and prices
I vivo X500 Pro and vivo X500 Pro Max feature the new main sensor Sony LYTIA L910 from 1/1.28 inch. This component boasts a dynamic range up to 17 EV, guaranteeing detailed images even in high-contrast lighting. Both versions offer a CIPA 7.0 stabilization, while the Pro Max goes further thanks to a 3-axis gimbal-type optical system.
The true star of the Pro Max’s photography department is the ZEISS 200 MP main telephoto, supported by the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, an accessory capable of reaching a focal length equivalent to 400 mm.
For videos, the Pro models shine with the ability to record 4K video at 240 fps and with the 17EV TrueDynamic Log at 10 bit format, accompanied by the 4K Cinematic Portrait Video mode and official support for the DaVinci workflow.
Even the base version maintains interesting specifications, offering the LYTIA 828 main sensor, a 64 MP telephoto lens and the recording 4K at 120 fps Log, in addition to compatibility with an optical extender equivalent to 200 mm.
Under the hood of the two main models lies the 2 nm Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. The vivo X500 Pro Max pairs this platform with a ZEISS Master Color display with a resolution of 2K on a 6.85-inch screen, powered by a sizeable BlueVolt battery of 7,900 mAh. The smaller X500 Pro, instead, opts for a 6.36-inch screen and a 6,510 mAh battery.
The standard X500 model relies on the Dimensity 9600M chip, includes a 6.59-inch display and a 7,500 mAh battery, supporting fast wired 90 W charging and 40 W wireless charging.
All Chinese devices debut with the OriginOS 7 software platform.
The arrival of vivo X Fold6
Beyond the classic series, the brand has outlined plans for its foldable smartphone, which will be marketed for the first time across the entire European territory. The vivo X Fold6 stands out with an open thickness of only 4.4 mm and a weight of 228 g in the Prism Black color.
The technical setup includes a ZEISS 200 MP main camera and a ZEISS APO telephoto, the first of its kind to earn such certification on a folding device.
The two displays reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, measuring 8.02 inches on the inside and 6.51 inches on the outside.
Performance is guaranteed by the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor and by a 6,900 mAh battery, in a robust chassis protected by IPX8, IPX9 and IP5X certifications.
Prices and availability
In China, the X500 series is available for pre-order from today, September 21, 2026, with general sales starting from September 24.
Converting the official figures from the Asian market, the base X500 starts from about €715 (5,499 yuan) for the 12/256 GB version. The vivo X500 Pro is offered from about €845 (6,499 yuan), while the exclusive X500 Pro Max starts from about €910 (6,999 yuan) up to about €1,170 (8,999 yuan) for the maximum configuration with 1 TB of storage.
To know the European pricing for the X500 series, one must wait for the launch event in Europe scheduled for October 27, 2026.
The situation is different for the foldable vivo X Fold6, which will be regularly on sale in Europe starting October 1, with an exclusive pre-order campaign already active from today in the official vivo Italy store.
During the same frame, the company also confirmed the extension of its ecosystem of connected accessories, announcing the arrival in Europe of the new vivo Buds Ultra, vivo Buds Clip and vivo Headphone Studio.
