Nothing OS 5.0 is on the way: closed beta for Phone (3) begins

Nothing has launched a new testing program dedicated to Nothing Phone (3) users, allowing a selected group to preview the upcoming software update before public rollout.

The company of Carl Pei has not yet explicitly indicated the name Nothing OS 5.0 nor officially confirmed the base Android 17, but all signs point to the next major update of the operating system.

Users with Nothing Phone (3) can apply to the Community Review Program by August 17: you can find all the details on the dedicated page. The brand will directly select participants from those who apply. Those chosen will be contacted by email and must sign a non-disclosure agreement and provide the IMEI of their smartphone.

Participation is not limited to installing the beta: regular feedback is required, adherence to information security guidelines and any embargo dates, as well as posting first impressions and reviews on your own social channels after the embargo ends.

Since this is a beta (and therefore experimental), it is advisable to perform a full backup of the most important data and ensure that Nothing Phone (3) has at least 50% battery before installation.

Nothing OS 5.0 is getting closer

Even though the name Nothing OS 5.0 does not yet explicitly appear in the program announcement, the launch of the closed beta is another sign that a new version of the brand’s interface is approaching.

At the moment there are no details on the interface changes, the coming features, or the timetable for the stable rollout. While waiting to learn more officially, you can take a look at the provisional list of smartphones that should receive Nothing OS 5.0 and Android 17 (the result of leaks and speculation).
