In the landscape of Android updates, Motorola has never stood out for speed and for supported devices. Despite the somewhat turbulent recent past, it seems things are gradually taking a positive turn.
The Chinese brand is among the first to publishthe full list of smartphones that will receive Android 17 and now good news also arrives for the release of the stable version. We start with Motorola Signature, the latest flagship unveiled at CES this year and also launched in Italy.
Android 17 stable: the new update is rolling out for Motorola Signature
The update is currently rolling out with a size of around 5.75 GB and the software version A171WVH.21-16-1-3-4. The changelog is fairly slim and only announces “a fresh and expressive design”, fewer superfluous elements thanks to smart notifications, improvements in multitasking and security.
As of this writing, it appears the update is being distributed only in India, but it is very likely that rollout will soon begin globally as well.
As of now the stable release of Android 17 has occurred for a limited number of devices. The starting point is clearly represented by the Google Pixel smartphones; in July Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 with the latest One UI 9 on board.
Moreover, Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra have received the latest version of the Android OS thanks to HyperOS 3.3. In this light, the go-ahead for the rollout for Motorola Signature represents a significant step forward by the brand.
While awaiting the release for a larger number of devices, we note the possibility to requestthe participation in the Android 17 beta for various Motorola devices.
