The next vivo X Fold 6 is expected for the month of June (in China, fingers crossed for a potential international version) and looks quite interesting. The device is expected to offer both Camera Phone and Battery Phone features, with a 200 MP super camera and a super-large battery.
However, the most recent rumors adjust the aim on one of the aspects of the brand’s future foldable. It seems that this time vivo would have put Qualcomm on the bench, choosing a MediaTek chipset for its next model in the X Fold family.
vivo X Fold 6 and the Dimensity 9500 bet: this year we’ll lean on MediaTek, but not neglect cameras and battery

The foldable series has historically been tied to Snapdragon chipsets: vivo X Fold 5 features Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and it has been so since its inception – always with a flagship Qualcomm solution.
The insider Digital Chat Station anticipates a shift with vivo X Fold 6, this time with a MediaTek SoC. It would be the Dimensity 9500, the Taiwanese chipmaker’s flagship offering; launched last September, the processor has found space on smartphones such as OPPO Find X9 Pro and vivo X300 Pro.
So it would be a first for the X Fold family and it’s likely to be a cost-containment strategy. The rumors point to an almost unchanged design, with a slim profile, a light weight, and a large circular camera module.
The debut is expected to take place by the end of June, with a class-leading camera setup (featuring a 200 MP sensor and a 50 MP periscope telephoto) and a generous 7,000 mAh battery. Additionally, there would also be the addition of a multispectral sensor, a feature that helps improve the color fidelity of the shots.
