Double Preview for Moto G87, from the official site and from a retailer

In January, Motorola strengthened its mid-range line-up with as many as four new Moto G (G77, G67, G17 and G17 Power) but we know there are more news coming. What reveals it is a mix of official details and rumors: the brand’s official store published the support page dedicated to the unreleased Moto G87 and meanwhile the phone has made a cameo in an Italian online store with details on colors and the possible price.

Moto G87 has been spotted both on Motorola’s official site and has also appeared in an online store

Regarding Motorola’s site, the page dedicated to the device reveals nothing extraordinary but confirms a design in line with that of the previous Moto G86. The display is a flat unit with a central punch-hole and an integrated fingerprint reader; the back shows a Squircle camera module that is seamlessly integrated with the chassis.

The triple camera sensors are accompanied by the LED flash, while along the bottom edge of the Moto G87 we have the speaker, the USB-C port and the microphone. The site confirms the micro SD slot, so memory expansion will be possible.

While waiting to learn more through official channels, Moto G87 has also appeared in a store: the Italian portal lists a single 8/256 GB configuration, the Pantone Overture and Pantone Blue Atoll colorways, along with the price of €406.89. This figure could be indicative, so it should be taken with caution.

Finally, additional details arrive thanks to an informant from the GSMArena team: by analyzing one of Motorola’s firmware builds, several details about the device have emerged, such as the codename (Naples) and its colorways. Alongside the two revealed by the store, there would also be four more Pantone shades (Arctic Seal, Black Olive, Nile Blue and Shaded Spruce).

Based on what has emerged, it seems that the device will have a chipset from the Dimensity 6000 series on board. It does not specify which SoC, but it is likely that it could be the Dimensity 6500, given that the other models in the series (G67 and G77) use the 6300 and 6400.

As usual, the final word always belongs to the company, so we are waiting for news from Motorola.
