After K90 and K90 Pro Max, Xiaomi’s flagship sub-brand lineup is complete. The Chinese company has announced Redmi K90 Max, a device whose name nods to its two siblings: for the occasion the brand drew inspiration from Gaming Phones, adding an advanced cooling system with an integrated fan.
Here are all the details of the new arrival, including technical specs, price and release: the launch took place in China, yet this device could be of great interest to us in the West as well.
Redmi K90 Max: Everything You Need to Know About Specifications, Price and Release

Although Xiaomi has long since set aside traditional Gaming Phones, the company continues to use technology designed to improve gaming. The new Redmi K90 Max is the brand’s first model equipped with a cooling fan, a solution widely used by specialized brands such as REDMAGIC but now adopted by rivals as well.
The fan has a diameter of 18.1 mm and uses a vertical air intake with blades angled forward to manage airflow more efficiently. The system also includes a liquid section with a vapor chamber of 6,000 mm2 and a layer of no less than 12,000 mm2 of high-thermal-conductivity graphite, to ensure a consistently cool environment.
The end result is a cooling system capable of lowering temperatures by up to 10°C in just 100 seconds. In addition, the fan operates in three adjustable modes, with a maximum noise level of 32 dB. Xiaomi seems to have the utmost confidence in its latest novelty: buying the device by May 5, the company promises 6 years of warranty on the fan, along with free cleaning for life.

Gaming goodies don’t stop there: the Redmi K90 Max display is also a top-tier solution. We’re talking about a 6.83″ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 165 Hz (and as low as 1 Hz thanks to LTPO). Moreover the screen offers extremely high responsiveness with a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz and instantaneous sampling at 3,500 Hz. Xiaomi guarantees support for 165 fps for over 40 games, while the AI D2 chip provides additional support for gaming.
Regarding the heart of the new smartphone, this time under the hood we have the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500, built on a 3 nm process with an All Big Core architecture and a maximum frequency of 4.21 GHz, featuring a Mali GPU with hardware ray tracing.
The battery is an 8,550 mAh unit with support for 100W fast charging. Wireless charging is not present, but Redmi has implemented 22.5W reverse charging to use the device as an emergency power bank (thanks to the silicon-carbon battery).

Finally the camera setup is based on the main sensor Light Fusion 800 50 MP (1/1.55″), with optical stabilization and paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide; on the selfie side, inside the central punch-hole sits a 20 MP sensor.
The company has decided to bring the experience of the K90 and K90 Pro Max to the new arrival as well: there isn’t a third speaker as in the Pro Max model, but we have a pair of speakers with Bose audio optimizations.
The starting price of Redmi K90 Max is 3,499 yuan, about €436 at current exchange rates, for the 12/256 GB model. Configurations go up to 16 GB/1 TB, priced at 4,999 yuan (about €623).

The global launch as Xiaomi 17T Pro
Typically Redmi K Ultra models debut here as part of the Xiaomi T series, but this year something has changed due to the Max branding and the Gaming Phone ambitions. However, according to rumors so far it has emerged that the Redmi K90 Max should serve as a base for our Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro, albeit with some differences.
Forget about the cooling fan: on this point all insiders agree. The international model would feature a classic-style design while the camera system would be enriched with optics Leica and a telephoto lens (with periscope zoom for the Pro).
The launch is expected for the month of May, well ahead of the Xiaomi T family’s usual release window (September). We should note that what has been read so far is part of the slew of rumors from the past few weeks, so we are awaiting official confirmation from Xiaomi.
