New Xiaomi cordless hair straightener: wireless, affordable, and with 70 minutes of runtime

Xiaomi has launched in China the new Mijia Wireless Hair Straightener 2, a cordless hair straightener designed for everyday use and travel, that focuses on an affordable price and on a 70-minute runtime. And as usual… fingers crossed for a release also at our latitudes!

Xiaomi Mijia Wireless Hair Straightener 2: faster heating and a 52-tooth comb

Compared with the previous generation, Xiaomi has replaced the MCH ceramic heating element with a PI heating film, paired with an NTC sensor that monitors the temperature 500 times per second, reducing preheating time by about 20%.

There are three temperature levels available, 160°C, 180°C and 200°C, displayed together with energy consumption and operating status on an integrated LED display in the handle.

The comb has been redesigned with 52 teeth, compared to 36 of the previous model, to hold more strands of hair with each pass.

Two 5,000 mAh batteries, each guaranteeing up to 70 minutes of runtime, enough for seven to eight sessions on short hair or three to four on medium-length hair; charging is via USB-C, with the option to use standard cables.

The device also generates 37 million composite plasma particles per session (18 million positive ions and 19 million negative ions), designed to reduce frizz and static electricity.

The launch price in China is 299 yuan (approximately €39) via the crowdfunding platform Youpin. The first version of the straightening brush arrived in Italy under the name Xiaomi Cordless Hair Straightener Brush and is currently available in the official store at the price of €59.90 (also on Amazon).
