In the last few hours, a first Geekbench test for the top-end model of Samsung’s tablet lineup, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, has appeared in Geekbench’s database.
The benchmark reveals a noticeable improvement in terms of computing power, while foregoing some special processor variants seen in the past.
The data collected by the renowned platform confirm that the tablet, identified by model number SM-X940, achieved very interesting scores. Specifically, the device reached 2,760 points in the single-core test and 9,291 points in the multi-core test.
These results were made possible thanks to the adoption of the SoC MediaTek Dimensity 9500. The processor architecture is divided into a main core operating at 4.21 GHz, paired with three cores set at 3.50 GHz and a further four cores running at 2.70 GHz for less demanding tasks.
The specs revealed by the test also include 12 GB of RAM, while the operating system installed on the prototype used for the benchmark was Android 17.
The most interesting detail of this leak concerns the choice of the processor itself. The previous model, namely the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, had debuted on the market integrating the Dimensity 9400 Plus, a boosted variant featuring a core that reached 3.73 GHz.
Moving to a base edition of the new-generation chip, the company has nonetheless managed to drastically increase overall power. Comparing the recent data with the previous generation, which on Geekbench 7 registered about 2,283 points in single-core and 8,093 in multi-core, yields a decidedly positive picture.
The transition to the new hardware translates into an improvement of about 20% for single-core operations and a solid 15% for multi-core processing.
It should also be noted that the operating system used for the test is still a pre-release build and final versions tend to offer higher speeds and optimizations.
As for the other technical specifications, rumors point to near-total continuity with the current generation. The tablet should maintain the large and sharp 14.6-inch display, supported by the same 11,600 mAh battery capable of charging at 45 W.
Also the overall aesthetics should not deviate from that of the predecessors, consolidating the brand’s classic lines.
The only official statement so far suggests that the launch of the new products will take place in the second half of the year, but several sources strongly point to the month of September for the final release.
