Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3: slimmer but longer battery life, there’s also a camera-free version

Despite the recent criticisms raised by the public regarding privacy issues, the smart glasses sector continues to register unstoppable growth, and Meta strengthens its position firmly during its Connect 2026 event.

The company unveiled to the world a renewed and expanded range of wearables, focusing on more refined designs and on a longer battery life.

This eagerly anticipated update directly involves the famous main line, which now reaches its third formal iteration, but it is accompanied by two new models: a camera-free variant and a more affordable base option to bring new users closer to this technology.

Meta presents new versions of its smart glasses, now also without cameras

The new Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 are available immediately on the brand’s official store at a starting price of 449 euros. Compared to previous models, this version features a significantly thinner frame that improves wearability throughout the day, incorporating for the first time adjustable temple tips with professional-grade precision.

The company has confirmed a long-awaited improvement on the battery life front, bringing the battery to reach 9 hours of continuous use, with an increase of about 12% in battery life compared to the previous generation.

The camera system’s capabilities remain unchanged, preserving the ability to capture footage with 3K resolution.

From a strictly aesthetic point of view, buyers can now navigate among as many as 27 different combinations, ranging from the historic frames Aviator and Wayfarer to the more modern design “Zena” cat-eye.

Addio alla fotocamera con i Ray-Ban Meta Audio

For all consumers who prefer the utmost discretion, the company has introduced the Ray-Ban Meta Audio, available from October at €349.

This specific variant forgoes entirely the inclusion of camera sensors, a precise design choice that has allowed for an incredibly compact form factor.

The glasses weigh in at a mere 43 g and guarantee 12 hours of uninterrupted playback on a single charge, which extend to 48 total hours by leveraging the case’s additional power.

The maximum comfort is ensured by hinges that can extend beyond the normal angle, accompanied by replaceable and adjustable nose pads. The models offered for this audio line include the much-loved frames Clubmaster and Burbank, available in multiple configurations of lenses and colors.

Affordable models and arrival of the Meta Ray-Ban Display in Italy

To further enrich the catalog, the Meta Adventurer are being marketed at a price of 259 euros, positioning themselves as the new entry point into the company’s smart world.

They will debut on 23 October and will feature a sleek black frame paired with gray lenses, accompanied by a handy plug-in case.

Finally, the conference gave due space to the Meta Ray-Ban Display, a premium product that is receiving a package of updates of great significance. The new features introduce the hands-free navigation, the integration with the Threads platform, faithful mirroring of smartphone notifications, and the possibility to manage holograms during video calls.

These particular glasses also undertake an important territorial expansion: they will soon be purchasable at 899 euros in various strategic international markets, among which are the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and, finally, Italy.
