In the same event in Monaco where it refreshed its wearable lineup with the Watch GT 7 (available in Italy), Watch 6, Watch 6 Pro, Watch D3 and FreeBuds Neo, the brand also brought to the global market two Nova-series smartphones, Huawei Nova 16s and Huawei Nova 16s Pro, together with the flagship tablet update, Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026).
The most ambitious model of the pair is Huawei Nova 16s Pro, which bets everything on the photography department: the rear main sensor is a RYYB Ultra-Large 200 MP sensor (1/1.28″, f/1.8), accompanied by a 50 MP RYYB periscope telephoto with 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom (f/2.6) and by an ultra-wide RYYB 50 MP with a 118° field of view and macro focus up to 2.5 cm.
Completes the rear module a 1.5 MP True-to-Colour multispectral sensor, dedicated to pixel-by-pixel color rendition. On the front, there is a 50 MP selfie solution, also paired with a 1.5 MP True-to-Colour module.
The display is an Ultra-Bright panel of 6.84″ with a 1.5K resolution (2856 × 1320), adaptive refresh rate LTPO 1-120 Hz and a peak brightness rated up to 6,000 nits, protected by Kunlun glass with a nano-crystalline coating.
Despite the generous size, the aerospace-grade aluminum frame keeps a thickness of only 7.1 mm for a total weight of 218 grams, with a fingerprint-resistant frosted glass back finish.
The battery has a typical capacity of 7,000 mAh, with 100W SuperCharge Turbo fast charging. Available colors are Isle Blue, Breathing Crystal and Starry Black.
Huawei Nova 16s shares the overall setup with the Pro model but scales it down to a slightly more compact body: the display drops to 6.68″ with a 1.5K resolution (2800 × 1280), a refresh rate up to 120 Hz and a peak brightness rated at 5,500 nits, always with Ultra-Dynamic True-Chroma Eye Protection Display technology and high-frequency PWM (2,160 Hz) to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions.
On the photography front, the rear main sensor is a 50 MP unit paired with a 50 MP RYYB periscope telephoto (3.3x optical zoom, up to 100x digital, with OIS) and the usual 1.5 MP True-to-Colour multispectral sensor.
The front camera is 50 MP Ultra Portrait, with an ultra-large 1/2.5″ sensor and 0.7 µm pixels. The chassis is 7.3 mm thick and cooled by an ultra-thin vapor chamber. Battery and charging mirror the Pro model (7,000 mAh typical, 6,800 mAh rated, 100W SuperCharge Turbo), while available colors are Breathing Crystal, Isle Blue, Sky White and Starry Black.
The new tablet Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) debuts with a 12″ flexible OLED display with a resolution of 3036 × 1952 pixels (302 PPI), a screen-to-body ratio of 93%, a declared contrast of 2,000,000:1, peak brightness up to 1,600 nits, a 144 Hz refresh rate and 1.07 billion colors in the P3 space; for those seeking a paper-like rendering, the device features a PaperMatte Display with an anti-reflective coating.
Under the hood, at just 4.7 mm thick and weighing 454 grams, it packs a Kirin T93 chipset paired with 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB, with HarmonyOS 4.3 as the operating system.
Battery varies by market: 9,760 mAh for the EU version, 10,400 mAh for other regions, with wired fast charging up to 66W and 40W reverse charging in both cases.
The camera setup includes a 50 MP rear camera (f/1.8, autofocus, LED flash) and a 12 MP front camera (f/2.4), with video up to 1080p.
Completing the package are four speakers with HUAWEI SOUND, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C 3.1 and GPS. Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) is available in Blue and Space Gray, with optional accessories such as the M-Pencil Pro stylus and the Glide Keyboard cover.
Huawei Nova 16s arrives in Europe from €599 in the 12/256 GB trim and goes up to €699 for the 12/512 GB. Huawei Nova 16s Pro costs €749 in the 12/256 GB version and €849 in the 12/512 GB variant.
Huawei MatePad Pro 12 (2026) starts from €1,199 for the 12/256 GB tier with Folio Cover included, rises to €1,299 for the same memory size with Keyboard included, and reaches €1,449 for the 12/512 GB configuration with Keyboard.
Currently there are no details yet on the possibility of seeing them in Italy.
