Just a short time after the debut in Italy of V70 Lite, here come a few more details about its successor. vivo V80 Lite 5G has been certified with the commercial name, while Geekbench provides an initial overview of the performance and specifications.
Once again we should be dealing with the rebrand of a Chinese model: here is what we know so far, awaiting confirmation from the brand.
The smartphone has appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database and on Google Play Console, an innocent appearance with the name and model numbers V2643, V2644 and V2576, but that was enough to reveal a slew of details.
The latest alias associated with vivo V80 Lite also matches vivo S2, a new model arriving in China on August 6. Consequently the Pandora’s box has opened: the Lite device for global markets should be a rebrand of the already mentioned S2.
Consequently, we can hypothesize an overlap of design and specifications. The next V80 Lite could have a look very different from the current version: the Chinese cousin S2 adopts an oval island (capsule) placed horizontally, with a style similar to the iPhone Air, and a display with curved bezels.
Time will tell whether vivo will keep this design also for the V-series smartphone, since the brand is not new to aesthetic changes when moving from China to international markets.
In the meantime, V80 Lite has also appeared on Geekbench with a new model number (V2626): the device scored 937 points in single-core and 2,654 points in multi-core, with 6 GB of RAM and Android 16.
The chipset – labeled MT6858 – features a 4 + 4 core configuration, with frequencies up to 2.5 GHz and 2.0 GHz. It would be the Dimensity 7300e, an enhanced version of the Dimensity 7100 with which it shares almost all characteristics.
The Chinese version vivo S2 would instead mount the Dimensity 7360 Turbo, but the rest of the specifications should not change. Below you will find an initial draft of the spec sheet, based on the leaks of the S model (out on August 6).
