Samsung is reportedly working on a new audio product aimed at expanding its lineup beyond the classic Galaxy Buds.
According to findings by the SamMobile team inside the Galaxy Wearable app, the South Korean manufacturer is developing a pair of headphones wireless over-ear. Not the first time the brand, which has already ventured into this field, but certainly a first for the Galaxy line.
The strings identified in the app refer to the internal codename Galaxy H1, which should not correspond to the final commercial name.
The same information confirms the presence of Bluetooth connectivity, while some graphics in the app also show elements related to the headphones’ connection status.
The project still appears to be in an early stage, and for this reason the launch would not be imminent. Clearly it is still early to make guesses, but the debut could take place at the beginning of 2027 (or perhaps during the first half of the year).
As shown by the images that emerged from the app, the form factor should be that of over-ear headphones, thus closer to products like AirPods Max than to traditional Galaxy Buds.
Hardware specifications have not yet been confirmed but it is plausible to hypothesize features such as Bluetooth 6.0, SSC UHQ codec, adaptive noise cancellation, integration with AI assistants and Auto Switch.
The larger size of the headphones could also allow for a significantly higher battery life than that offered by Galaxy Buds.
The future Galaxy H1 would not be the only audio project in development for the Asian giant. Samsung would also be preparing new Galaxy Buds models with a hook and with clip-over-ear design, signaling a broader strategy to diversify its wireless device offerings.
For the moment, the over-ear headphones remain without a final name, confirmed specs or an official launch date. Surely in the coming months there will be leaks, so there’s nothing left but to wait.
Clearly, underneath the new graphical changes there will still be Android 17. It should be…
