There’s now very little time left until the announcement of OnePlus’s closure in Europe and the USA, a farewell that is becoming increasingly evident when looking at both the manufacturer’s official store and the latest moves.

From a rebellious startup to a consolidated reality, up to the end: according to rumors so far, OnePlus will continue to operate in China and India — therefore the departure would concern only Western markets.

Let’s say that the decision by Pete Lau’s company was fairly obvious: in recent months both the OnePlus Nord 6 (and more) and the new low-cost Battery Phone, the OnePlus N6 (even an entirely new series), have been launched, both destined exclusively for the Indian market.

Meanwhile in Europe, issues with after-sales service are being reported, while the official shops are almost completely empty. The brand’s entire product lineup is sold out, and the latest items on offer appear clearly to be unsold stock.

As if that weren’t enough to make the picture clear, some official OnePlus sites redirect directly to purchasing OPPO products.

According to insider Roland Quandt, the final blow will arrive this week: in the coming days OnePlus is expected to officially announce the closure in Europe and the United States.

The rumors are very clear on this: this is not a downsizing, perhaps with a change of strategy to position itself in a different price tier from the flagship, but rather a true disappearance of the brand from the European and US markets.

OnePlus’s role in Europe will be taken over by OPPO; the parent company will take its place and should expand into new markets. However, specific details are still lacking, so we will necessarily have to wait for the official announcement.
