POCO M8 Power official, in bright orange and with an 8,000 mAh battery

The new POCO M8 Power 5G is official (for now in India) and, as hinted by earlier clues, it presents itself as a global rebrand of the Chinese Redmi Note 17. The specifications are identical, while what changes are the colorways and part of the rear design, enriched by a large rectangular island with the POCO logo on display.

Let’s recap all the details and the price, while we wait to learn more about a release in our region.

The mid-range Xiaomi is a Battery Phone with 8,000 mAh that, thanks to the presence of a silicon-carbon battery, keeps dimensions and weight of a traditional phone. We’re talking about 225 grams and 8.4 mm, not bad for a beast with such capacity.

The brand promises up to 3 days of autonomy while reverse charging allows you to use the device as a Power Bank. To complete the picture, we have support for 45W fast charging.

The front section hosts a AMOLED Full HD display of 6.99″ diagonal, with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 1,800 nits. The smartphone is IP65 rated while security is entrusted to an under-display fingerprint reader.

The chassis features a 50 MP camera with an auxiliary sensor not specified. The orange color is typically summery and flashy, while the black and green tones are less flashy but very elegant. In leaks there was also a silver variant, perhaps dedicated to another market.

The price of POCO M8 Power 5G starts at around €227 at the current exchange rate (6/128 GB), up to around €255 (for the 8/128 GB model). We should note that the debut occurred in India and there are still no details for a possible release in Italy.
