ColorOS 17: Closed beta starts for these OPPO, OnePlus and Realme devices

OPPO has kicked off the beta closed program dedicated to ColorOS 17, the upcoming version of the brand’s proprietary interface. There are still several months to go until the announcement and debut, but with the first tests, more details and rumors will surely emerge.

Moreover, the end of OxygenOS and Realme UI has been definitively confirmed: among the smartphones that can access the test are also OnePlus and Realme devices.

The recruitment for the beta phase is limited to 300 participants, with the option to sign up for only a few days. After that, beta software will be rolled out in batches from August 11 to 13; please note that the program is active only for Chinese and Indian users.

For now there are no concrete leaks about the new ColorOS 17: we know for sure that will not adopt the Liquid Glass from Cupertino, according to what was reported by one of the heads of the software division (Chen Xi). Furthermore the same OPPO executive states that the UI will focus heavily on the user experience and that aesthetic changes will not be a priority.

There is no official release window yet, so we are looking at the month of October — in line with the current ColorOS 16.
