The streaming music service Amazon Music Unlimited is raising its price in Italy, and not by a small amount. The price hikes began in these August days and foresee subscription cost increases of up to 30% more, with figures that exceed Spotify’s Individual and Family plans.
The price of the individual plan of Spotify Premium is €11.99, while it rises to €20.99 for the Family subscription (up to 6 people in the same household). The new Amazon Music Unlimited rates start at €12.99 per month for the individual plan, while the Family version climbs to €22.99.
| Plan | Previous price | New price |
| Individual | €10.99 | €12.99 |
| Individual annual | €109 | €129 |
| Family | €17.99 | €22.99 |
| Family annual | €179 | €229 |
The new pricing for Amazon’s audio streaming platform is already in effect for new Music Unlimited subscriptions. For subscribed users, the increase will be applied starting September 9.
The Echo or Fire TV subscription remains unchanged, still offered at €6.99 per month. Regarding the reasons, Amazon states that the increases are due to the rise in external costs related to providing the service, and in particular the costs related to content (such as licensing costs for music rights).
Note that you can still take advantage of 30 days of free trial, a promotion valid for new users. At the end of the free period the subscription price will be €12.99 per month, in line with what was seen above.
