A few days have passed since the launch of the Reno 15 series in Italy (and a few months since the Chinese release) but already we are looking at the future of the lineup. A well-known insider has shared some details in advance about the next OPPO Reno 16: the mid-range will continue to rely on MediaTek’s Dimensity, but there will also be several novelties.
The first details arrive from the usual Digital Chat Station, a Chinese insider we know very well. The leaker claims that the OPPO Reno 16 series has entered the testing phase: that means that most of the hardware specifications should be final, despite quite a long time before it hits the market.
Based on what has emerged, the launch could take place around mid-year, at least for China. It remains to see when it will make its appearance in Italy, but for now the timing is really premature.
Returning to the technical part, the series would rely on the Dimensity 8500, a chipset freshly launched, which would replace the current 8450. The SoC — manufactured on a 4 nm process and capable of a maximum frequency of 3.4 GHz — has found space aboard the Redmi Turbo 5 just these days.
