The presentation (in China) of the Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled for the July 14: as usual, Xiaomi has started releasing official teasers that – progressively – reveal the upcoming novelties with the new mid-range models. It starts with the design and the first differences between the base model and the Pro, spanning water resistance and more.
The sibling Redmi Note 17 Pro is shown in the new Sky Blue color, with a sky-blue chassis featuring a texture that captures the lightness of the new models; all in a pale and delicate blue tone. The teasers confirm the presence of a protective Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass, a solution usually reserved for flagship models.
Additionally, there will be a waterproof chassis, with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. The device seems to mount a triple camera; on the other hand Redmi Note 17 is shown in an elegant purple gradient color, with a dual rear camera.
Both phones are equipped with cameras housed in a vertical capsule-shaped space, which is itself set into a square module. The devices feature straight edges and offer a flat display with a central cutout for the selfie camera.
Moving on to the rumors, again details are not abundant. The upcoming smartphones should be four – Redmi Note 17 and Note 17R, Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max – but for now there are no certainties.
At the base of the range there would be a smartphone with an OLED 6.83″ 1.5K display, with a 9,000 mAh battery, 67W charging and a 50 MP main camera. For the chipsets we look to the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 5.
Moving to the higher-end brothers, there are rumors of a Dimensity 7500 SoC, a super battery of over 10,000 mAh and a 200 MP main sensor. The usual Pro+ model would have been replaced by Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, the flagship version; it remains to be seen what the differences will be between the two Pro devices since at the moment they aren’t very clear.
Finally, the debut in Europe: clearly the timing is premature and details are missing. Given the precedents it is reasonable to assume that Global models will reach us around January 2027, but it isn’t certain that Xiaomi won’t opt for an earlier release. After all, even in China the new phones of the Note 17 series will arrive earlier than usual, in July rather than August.
