The Mountain View company has started distributing the official invitations for the eagerly awaited presentation of the Pixel 11 family and the smartwatch Pixel Watch 5.
The date to mark on the calendar is the August 12, a lead of as much as 8 days compared to August 20 of last year, when the tenth generation debuted. The time chosen for the event, set precisely at the midnight between the 12th and the 13th, shifts toward the American evening window, differentiating from the traditional morning conferences typical of the industry.
The backdrop will once again be the city of New York, in its second consecutive year as the stage for Google’s hardware. The anticipation also concerns the tone of the conference: many hope for a more institutional and technical hosting, mindful of the somewhat embarrassing exchange between Vice President Rick Osterloh and host Jimmy Fallon from last year’s edition.
On the technical front, the main novelty lies in the Tensor G6 processor. The new chip will be produced by TSMC using the 2 nm process and will adopt the advanced Gate-All-Around transistor architecture. This solution allows the gate to wrap around the conduction channel on all four sides, significantly reducing power leakage and improving clock frequencies thanks to faster state transitions.
A move that will also allow the company to outpace Apple by a few weeks in deploying the 2 nm at a commercial scale.
The expected lineup should include four distinct models: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL e il pieghevole Pixel 11 Pro Fold“>.
One of the most notable innovations could be Pixel Glow. It is a novel notification system based on a series of LED lights, capable of lighting up in eight different colors along the rear panel of the device.
When the phone is laid face down on a table, it will show a specific color or luminous pattern based on the type of notification, the sender of a message, or the app involved. Users will have the ability to assign precise tones to specific contacts or clearly differentiate work alerts from a simple missed call.
The system will also provide an immediate visual feedback for other hardware and software features: a glowing animation will indicate that the Gemini assistant is listening or recording audio, a red pulse will signal a critical battery level, while a fixed green indicator will confirm the 100% charge.
