With the opening of ChinaJoy, the largest Asian technology and gaming fair, Xiaomi has also announced. Redmi K100 Pro Max was officially shown and there is also a presentation date.
The brand’s new flagship has decided to challenge the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with an unprecedented wine-red color, coincidentally the same shade that should be introduced by Cupertino.
The release date of Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max is set for August 11, exclusive to China. The series features a design similar to the previous generation, with a large rectangular camera island and a rear speaker with Bose optimizations.
The camera system is based on three sensors and among these one can glimpse a periscope telephoto lens. The chassis is colored with the new vinaceous shade Cabernet Sauvignon Red, similar to the Dark Cherry of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Among the other confirmations we have a 6.9″ OLED display, with a high refresh rate. The two phones in the family were spotted on Geekbench and in both cases we should find the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
This means that the future Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will be reserved for a future model, perhaps with the Ultra denomination.
Xiaomi has confirmed that two flagship models will be announced, namely the Pro model and the top-end Pro Max version (shown in the images). However the Chinese house has not ruled out the standard model: Redmi K100 base exists but will arrive at a later time.
Typically the Redmi K series has a deep link with the POCO F family. The new smartphones should debut globally as POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra, although some changes cannot be ruled out.
Given the absence of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (it will arrive at the end of September while the Chinese phones on August 11), perhaps we will be dealing with POCO F9 Pro and Pro Max, with the Ultra version planned for a later time. Anyway, this is our hypothesis and the final word always rests with Xiaomi.
