Xiaomi Pad 9 and the new foldable certified: when will it debut?

Following the sightings focused on the Global versions of Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro Max, it’s now time for the upcoming news from the parent company. Xiaomi Pad 9 has been certified by the 3C authority, with what seems to be a ‘confirmation’ of the bad news that leaked some time ago.

Additionally, there are updates for the next Xiaomi foldable flagship: the device has received an important certification and it seems the unveiling is not that far off.

As for the new tablet, the device has surfaced with the code M656BA: the commercial name isn’t listed, but from previous rumors we know it should be Xiaomi Pad 9.

According to the 3C authority, the Pad will arrive together with a charger labeled MDY-17-EE, with a power of 45W. This is the same power as the predecessor, an hint that could ‘confirm’ a rumor far from exciting: the tablet should not introduce novelties compared to the current Pad 8, but is expected as a simple rebrand equipped with a larger battery.

Beyond the jump from 9,200 mAh to 9,720 mAh there would be no other changes, rumors that thus explain the 3C certification with the same charging power. The new tablet series is expected in China for the month of September, together with the Xiaomi 18 lineup.

The next Xiaomi foldable will be launched in August

Meanwhile a new device has appeared in the CMIIT database: this is a mandatory certification issued by the Chinese Ministry of Industry, a document that represents a crucial step for the debut.

The product bears the code 2608BPX34C and, in Xiaomi’s tradition, the initial numbers represent the release period. The launch is expected in the month of August (“2608“) and there is only one smartphone expected before the debut of the Xiaomi 18 series.

We are surely dealing with the next foldable smartphone from the brand, arriving as Xiaomi 17 Fold, MIX Fold 5 or even MIX Fold 6 (with a generational leap). Whatever its name, the phone is expected to feature a wide-format design and recently was spotted in a supposed live photo.

On board there would be the new XRING O3 proprietary chipset, a 6,000 mAh battery and a 200 MP camera with Leica optics. The internal display should measure 7.6″ diagonally, and the debut is expected exclusively for the Chinese market.
