There are whispers about the Vivo V80: launch in midsummer, here are the specs

Despite only a few months having passed since the launch of the latest model in the series, talk already centers on the upcoming Vivo V80. The mid-range of the V family doesn’t seem to be very far away: the latest rumors talk of a launch in the middle of summer and also preview some details of the specifications — although, in truth, perhaps we could already know everything.

Vivo V80 arrives in August: what to expect from the new mid-range of the series

The unveiling of Vivo V80 would be scheduled for August: there is still no exact date, so we await further details. Remember that the current V70 was announced first in India (in February) and then appeared in Italy shortly after (in April).

The previous V60 didn’t arrive here, so it remains to be seen whether Vivo will skip another generation or if the V80 will also make its appearance in our latitudes.

Regarding the specs, leaks point to a mid-range with a flat display of 6.59" diagonal with a 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate (compared to 120 Hz of the predecessor). There should be no chipset news: the Vivo V80 would keep the V70’s SoC (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4) but with the advantage of a larger battery, 7,200 mAh, and still with 90W charging.

The camera setup would rely on a triple 50 + 50 + 8 MP with a periscopic telephoto lens and a 110° ultra-wide; in short, also on this front no news compared to the V70.

Summing up, the alleged V80 seems like a rebrand of the Chinese model Vivo S60, but with a lower-end chip (the S device uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3) and the addition of Zeiss optics — now a core part of the V family.
