While we await news on when the Redmi Note 17 series will arrive in Global version (it’s rumored to arrive as early as August), two new accessories from Xiaomi’s lineup surface. They are Redmi Watch 6 Active and Watch 6 Lite, a pair of budget wearables with a sporty and appealing look — there’s even a version with an orange strap, a color particularly suited for the summer season.
At the moment the new Xiaomi watches come from a leak, so we are awaiting official details. However the source spared no expense: images, technical details and even the price in Europe have leaked, so now only the blessing from Lei Jun’s company is missing.
The wearables arrive ahead of the Redmi Watch 6 debut, launched in May in Italy both in standard version and with NFC chip for payments from the wrist. The new smartwatches echo the style of the flagship model, with large square displays and a sporty look with silicone straps.
Redmi Watch 6 Active model features a 1.85″ AMOLED display diagonally (vs 2.07″ for Watch 6) with a resolution of 450 x 390 pixels; along the right edge there is a physical button. The device supports calls via Bluetooth 5.3, a microphone and speaker, while the battery life is powered by a 470 mAh battery.
The usual health suite is present, including heart-rate monitoring and blood oxygen level tracking. There is also support for over 140 sports modes, some with automatic detection.
The watches are expected to debut in Europe, but there are currently no details on the date and the countries where they will be available. In Italy, both the Active and Lite models from the previous series have arrived, so we can assume there will also be room for the new wearables.
