Although there are still a few days until the international debut, in reality the tablet has already been announced in its home market as REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro. Consequently we know everything, and all that remains is to see which configurations will arrive here – and the selling price.

The tablet has been confirmed as REDMAGIC Astra 2 and continues the lineage of its predecessor: the device offers a compact design with an AMOLED display of 9.06″ diagonal, with the addition of a 185 Hz refresh rate – compared to 165 Hz of the first chapter. It is a flagship model, with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, i.e., Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset.

Its peculiarity lies in the fluorinated liquid cooling system, borrowed from the brand’s latest high-end models (such as REDMAGIC 11S Pro).

The AquaCore system developed by the Chinese company adopts a different approach from traditional smartphone cooling methods: instead of relying exclusively on a vapor chamber, it uses a sealed circuit in which a fluorinated liquid is circulated by a ceramic piezoelectric micropump through laser-engraved microchannels.

The cooling process occurs in three stages: the Liquid Metal 3.0 section (with liquid metal) rapidly transfers heat generated by the SoC to the cooling structure; the moving fluorinated liquid, along with the large vapor chamber, distributes heat away from the most critical components, preventing hotspot formation, while an internal 24,000 RPM fan, supported by aerospace-grade aluminum ducts, expels heat from the device.

According to REDMAGIC, the entire circuit is completely sealed and built with low-temperature assembly processes and a puncture-resistant membrane, thus ensuring shock resistance and preventing any leakage of refrigerant, maintaining high performance even during the most intense gaming sessions.

Below you will find the full technical specifications (based on the Chinese model) while on this page of the Global official site you can subscribe to receive updates and have a chance to receive a free tablet.
