OnePlus exits Europe, the USA, and India? The new report and the company’s response

The tech landscape has been shaken by a series of rumors regarding the future of OnePlus, a brand that built its fame on the flagship killer concept. According to a recent report circulated by Bloomberg, the company is reportedly planning a strategic withdrawal from several major international markets, including the United States and Europe, with a closure of operations that could begin as early as the coming weeks.

Also the Indian market, historically one of the strongest for the brand, would be involved in this maneuver, with an exit planned for 2027, while operations in China would remain unchanged.

This drastic decision would not be an isolated case, but would be part of a deep internal restructuring decided by the parent company OPPO to optimize global resources.

Among the factors driving this choice are slower-than-expected growth in recent years (in the West) and growing geopolitical concerns. In this scenario of change, Realme also seems destined for a transformation, with rumors suggesting its withdrawal from the Chinese market to focus efforts exclusively on the Nordic markets — while OPPO should focus on Central Europe.

Initially there were rumors of OnePlus exiting Europe and the USA, while activities in India would not undergo any changes: now Bloomberg talks about the farewell also to the Indian market (in 2027), sparking strong concern among users.

OnePlus India has issued an official statement stating that local operations continue as usual and inviting caution regarding unverified speculation.

Management has reiterated that the local strategy and business continuity are currently guaranteed, however without providing specific details on what might happen beyond 2026.

But as for Europe and the USA, details are currently lacking: no communication to reassure users, a strong signal that suggests the rumors of withdrawal from these markets may be true. We will know more in the coming hours: the official statement is expected to arrive on July 16, at least according to various insiders.
