The internal water droplets promote corrosion and cause short circuits extremely expensive to fix. The same expert recalled how another famous internet myth, namely using rice to dry wet devices, is ineffective and continues to circulate for no reason.
The thermal stress should never be underestimated, as shown by a recent incident in which the lithium battery swelled in a tablet and caught fire right inside the repair center.
Major tech companies, including Apple, Samsung and Google, offer clear and unanimous guidelines on managing high temperatures.
Modern smartphones are equipped with advanced safety systems that automatically intervene when sensors detect excessive heat. The device, in fact, reduces screen brightness, slows down the processor speed, temporarily disables some functions, and stops charging to protect itself before suffering permanent damage.
Instead of forcing cooling with the fridge, companies recommend unplugging the power cable, removing thicker protective cases, and moving the device to a shaded area and well-ventilated, away from direct sunlight.
Closing the most demanding applications, lowering the display brightness, and avoiding recording long videos are additional steps recommended to facilitate heat dissipation.
A little patience to let the device cool down naturally remains the only safe solution to preserve the integrity of your tool.
