In recent hours, Lenovo has shared an official video that reveals the appearance of its upcoming gaming tablet with 5G network support, with the full announcement expected for August.

The device, which according to translations from Chinese should be named Lenovo Legion Y700 Ultimate, promises an uninterrupted gaming experience thanks to an advanced connectivity system that combines a physical SIM and an eSIM, aiming for a design optimized to ensure impeccable signal reception.

The recent promotional video allowed a close look at the innovations introduced by the Asian brand compared to the previous model. The most pronounced difference lies precisely in the connectivity department.

While the version that reached the market last March lacked 5G support, this new iteration includes a slot for a traditional SIM card paired with a eSIM. This configuration allows dual-SIM dual-standby, providing users with significant flexibility for managing data traffic on the move.

The device’s aesthetics have undergone some slight modifications, mainly to accommodate a new antenna system. This solution has been designed specifically to ensure that the connection does not drop, regardless of how the user chooses to hold the tablet during the most intense gaming sessions.

Awaiting full technical specifications

Although the images confirmed the device’s extremely compact nature, Lenovo has chosen to keep the internal features under tight wraps. At the moment, there is no certainty about the processor that will power the new tablet.

It remains to be seen whether the company will again opt for the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, already used on the version announced in the spring.

The overall dimensions seem to mirror those of the predecessor, suggesting the likely retention of the 8.8-inch display featuring a resolution of 1.904 x 3.040 pixels, a format much appreciated.

With the official unveiling now imminent, all that remains is to await the company’s upcoming communications, which has already promised to reveal all missing details ahead of the definitive launch scheduled for August.
