Apple Creator Studio updates: subtitles and AI-generated masks arrive

Apple has released a massive update for its collection of professional apps Creator Studio, introducing a range of artificial intelligence-based tools and an increasingly deeper integration across the various applications.

The goal of the company is to streamline workflows for users of Mac, iPad, and iPhone, enabling seamless transitions between video editing, photo editing, document layout, and music production, all while keeping files synchronized.

The new subtitling generation feature automatically transcribes audio and places the text on the timeline with great precision, then giving editors broad customization options for font, style, and colors.

On Mac, an automatic masking tool debuts capable of intelligently isolating specific elements within the frame, such as faces, hair, clothing, or portions of the sky, virtually eliminating the need for laborious manual tracking.

Joining these introductions is automatic cut detection, which scans already exported videos to re-segment them into the original clips, facilitating the creation of short clips for social platforms.

Also the Final Cut Camera app for mobile devices makes a step forward, introducing HDMI video output for external monitors and the ability to disable digital zoom to preserve the maximum optical resolution.

Synergy between Pixelmator Pro and iWork

Professionals working on Keynote presentations, Pages documents, or Numbers spreadsheets can now select an image, open it directly in Pixelmator Pro, apply the desired edits and see them saved in real time in the original file.

The same principle of continuity applies to Final Cut Pro, from which it is now possible to send a single frame to the photo editing software to create a video cover without ever interrupting the editing session.

Audio engineers and musicians relying on Logic Pro benefit from an update to the chord recognition system, now capable of analyzing complex harmonic progressions and inversions even on difficult-to-decipher audio tracks, such as distorted guitars or pianos not perfectly tuned.

For those who want to study professional production techniques, the update includes a complete project from producer Khris Riddick-Tynes, revealing the full structure of the MIDI and vocal tracks of the song “Shoulda Never“.

On the synthesis front, Alchemy expands with an unprecedented granular synchronization mode, backed by a dedicated sound package, designed specifically to experiment with audio.
